This dog belongs to large breed dogs and the dog is called as blood hound. As his name specifies this dog is used for human tracking and in army these kinds of dogs have high reputation and designation.

Like scent hound these blood hounds have ability to follow things using scent and they can trace anything easily. Such dogs have keen sense of smell.  In appearance, they are different from other breeds of dog and they have average weight of 36 kg and normally 50-70 cm in height. You will find bloodhound in red, tan, liver and black colors. They have normally large body structure and their weight depends on their bones.

They alternative name is Hubert Hound and country of origin of this dog is Belgium and France. This breed of dog is active, clever, cheerful and lovely dog and it is very hard to train such types of dog. Bloodhound has usually high illness rate especially gastro problems.  This is not a home pet dog and commonly used for hunting and tracing.
