Christopher “CT” Torres the host of The Rockland Report says; “July 2nd we are taking our community back. We are promoting unity in our community. Everyone who will be performing will be spreading the same message: Stop the VIOLENCE!”

This project was started by Peter “Petey Pete” Brunwasser, whose purpose for starting the campaign was to allow up & coming Hip-Hop artists showcase their talents in a positive and productive manner, by taking the initiative to spread a stop the violence message through Hip- Hop music, which today’s youth is highly influenced by.

Dante Driggins the artist also known as Tayy B has already performed for the Pomona middle School students on June 12th. He represented the campaign & attracted some great reactions from the kids that were present. Please check out this video on You Tube to see the reactions for yourself; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bFggMc7qZQ Tayy B agrees to participate and notes - “In the last three months in Orange County, Newburgh had three teenagers killed in senseless act of violence. As a Hip-Hop artist I feel like I have the ears of the young people and I can reach them through my music. If the young people are the future of the country it’s very important right now to begin mentoring them today for a better tomorrow.”

The campaign has a great following and support from; Rockland Family Shelter, Freedom Program of Tomorrow Workplace, DELTA Project Mens Organizing Taskforce, Off The Hook Fish and Chips, Chosen Networks, Fusion Media Productions, S&S Pro-Sounds Studios, Rock City Promotions, Trendsetter and last but not least Zenedge energy drink.

Roger Williams Director of the Freedom Program from Tomorrow’s Workplace
“One of our goals is to end violence in our communities. We work with the youth that have dropped out of high school from 17-21 years of age & help them with getting GED diplomas and employment referrals. The motto for the Freedom Program is; the freedom program is alive and free and this is something that we teach in our curriculum. We think it goes hand in hand with the Stop the Violence campaign, which is based for the youth programs. What a better way to reach the youth than through Hip-Hop music.”

Reggie Rivera a.k.a ORRA President of Chosen Networks & Co-Executive Producer of The Rockland Report is the event coordinator and overseeing the entire event on July 2nd. “Chosen Networks represents the true essence of Hip-Hop & all its cultural elements. It was created by Emanuel Roman a.k.a. Prizm, who started it as a chapter of Zulu Nation, which it then evolved into Chosen Networks. We live Hip-Hop & are Hip-Hop. We promote violence prevention and we support all organizations who promote any positive message. We want to get quality music for the compilation album & we also want to conduct an event that will bring peace and happiness to the people. Hopefully, this event will encourage the participating artists to become permanent members of the Stop the Violence in Hip-Hop campaign.”

Tayy B- Creator of Man Behind the Music , “I am hoping through this event to actually reach those young people through music through songs through the arts weather it be to educate them or to teach them that violence is not the answer. I feel it’s my civil duty to perform for a greater cause. Kids dropping out of school and disrespecting cops is not the answer, but they’ll pick up a Lil’ Wayne album and listen to it, before they will pick up a newspaper and read it.
