Lincoln, the luxury division of Ford, has come out with the 2009 version of its premium full-size sedan, the MKS.

A front-wheel drive system is standard; while all-wheel drive system is optional.

Interiors and exteriors
The Lincoln MKS’ outstanding exterior feature is the “split-wing” grille, which brings back memories of the classic 1941 Continental. The cruise control is unique: it has a radar which maintains one of three preset gaps between MKS and the vehicle in front of it. Once these vehicles get too close to each other, the sensors make the car slow down to the distance that has been set. Conversely, as soon as that predetermined gap widens, MKS gets back to its preset speed.

The spacious interiors come with 38.6 inches of legroom for the second row and 41.9 inches for the first. Its trunk has 18.7 cubic feet of space.

Safety Features
Some novel safety features are given for the 2009 Lincoln MKS. These include six air bags, which are inclusive of side curtain bags to protect everyone in the car; Occupant Classification System which senses the size of a front seat occupant in order to determine air bag deployment strength; Adaptive Collapsible Steering Column, which varies in collapsibility according to the size and belted status of the driver and Front-seat side airbags that are placed to give extra chest protection for the driver and front passenger.
