For the middle class american family (and everyone else), times in america (and everywhere else) are extremely hard right now financially with no relief in sight for a while.

While businesses are still laying off and unemployment is climbing, everyday households are becoming finacially immobilized and are having a difficult time just paying the normal monthly expenses of living. One extra expense like a medical bill because a family member got ill or a repair bill on a car due to a bad transmission and catching up on the bills, becomes almost immpossible.

There are some things that people are doing to off-set these financial burdens and they seem to be helping.
One way is by limiting their budget and spending less byeither just “doing without” or by “cutting back”. Another thing that is helping is to find creative ways to increase their income. Yard sales are popping up all over the place and are one good way of earning some extra cash.

Having a yard sale can be very profitable if you have the right items for sale ( remember one man’s trash is another man’s treasure ).A yard sale for the seller helps to clear the clutter of unwanted items from his/her house and at the same time makes him/her some extra money. A yard sale for the buyer is an easy way to save money.

Some people don’t have anything they wish to sell and don’t want to have a yard sale and in some of these cases they just try to save money by clipping coupons and planning ahead on their grocery shopping. Also car pooling will save on gas when traveling to and from work not to mention that people are really starting to watch their utility bills and starting to turn back the thermostat.

One thing We can be pretty sure of is that with all of what we are going through finacially, I believe we will prevail and that we will stand back up and be all the stronger for it, but our banks, our country and our individual lives will never be the same.
