According to international market research firm iSuppli’s report, this year’s global cell phone shipments in the first quarter, decreased 13.9% sequentially, but increased 13.8% over the same period last year, reaching 288.1 million. The top four of Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson’s position remained unchanged. RIM and Apple ranks fifth and sixth, respectively; while Chinese manufacturers ZTE and Huawei and TCL Communications are the top ten ranking list.
iSuppli reports that the first quarter, the largest four firms ranked the same as the fourth quarter of last year, Nokia, Samsung, LG still ranks the first three-Wholesale cell phones, but Samsung and Nokia’s market share further narrow the gap. Fourth sales for Sony Ericsson, RIM’s initial rise to fifth, Apple’s first quarter sales growth of 130% over last year, the sixth largest in the global handset manufacturers, Motorola slipped to eighth in sales charts.
Statistics in the report, the Chinese companies is particularly striking-China cell phone.
